This is the most amazing GSL I've ever seen.

I want to love it, but I just can't help but prefer bolted-on ZG flares...

Kinja'd!!!

Also, the rear wheels are way too big, it looks lifted.

Not bad! Although I prefer the JDM Legends/Hot Wheels version.

Not bad.

I have always wondered what an open-cockpit 1st-gen RX7 racer would be like.

No b-pillar hoop, no windshield, no hatch, just cut off above the belt line, and tube-frame re-inforced. Maybe a plexi aero lip mini-screen, and an aero-fairing like a D-type, or something... the hatch area closed in, maybe the passenger seat area, as well... no glass, just enough lights to be functional... with a built 20B and drivetrain, and a fuel cell in the back.

I have envisioned it for an FC also...

I would certainly not kick it out of bed. (But, I'll dragon anything).

Nice. I actually enjoyed racing an 85 GSL-SE with a large street ported 13B. It didn't seem as fast or post as good of times as my 240Z in autocross, but the thing seemed to always be shooting flames due to rich tune which the spectators liked. If I had flares like that I may have actually been able to keep traction with the little monster.

You can't tell me that stuff is blasphemy. You just can't. JDM S30-style fender flares and deep offset RS Watanabe F8 wheels are my crack cocaine.

IMSA or molded in ZGs is where it's at BIOTCH ! None of this crappy bolt on nonsense... (even though I really debated doing rivet on with my Z).

You just posted a marque-mixed V8-swapped S30. All your arguments are invalid indefinitely.

The important parts is the flares... but yes, it is v8 blasphemy.

I prefer my S30 with uncovered headlights, thank you. The flares are nice I guess, but it looks wider in the front and a bit too modernized for my tastes. At least IMSA flares on an S130 (which I like with glass-covered headlights, by the way) or Z31 (no glass covers, please) are a bit more period-correct.

Yeah, my Z has uncovered headlights. Sucks for aero, looks a lot better.

Agreed. I think the S130's more aerodynamic styling goes rather well with covered headlights though.

Kinja'd!!!

This might not be the most beautiful example of an S130, but it IS an actual previous member of the Mid Night Club ...

This is definitely a favorite of mine:
